Lagumdžija highlighted that he does not know a man in the region with richer biography than Matić.
„First chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, comprised without the three ‘historical national parties’, the longtime president of the Academy of Sciences of BiH, first man of the World Academy of Sciences from our country, director general of Energoinvest from its best days, the first minister of science and technology of the former Yugoslavia,“ Lagumdžija said about professor Matić.
Lagumdžija added that Matić could teach everyone how to be an expert, educated, professional, patriot, fair, intelligent, how to be elite and still understand the marginalized, how to be left-winger and still be respected by the ideological opposition, how to be respected, an academician, but still a reveler.
„It is a long list of people who are great for some of their traits, but I do not know many people who are among the greatest ones for so many characteristics of theirs. Professor was the answer to the question ‘how to be intelligent in profession, and be a human’,“ Lagumdžija said.
Lagumdžija also stated that professor Matić lived in the third millennium before anyone else and that he knew and pointed to how a different, unknown world is ahead of people, a world which will be defined by the explosion of knowledge, information technologies, and education.
„All of us, sooner or later, will go to where Professor Božo Matić left. Only the rare ones, the lucky ones and true humans will leave a permanent trace and stay with us always. Professor is certainly one of them,“ Lagumdžija concluded.
