Young Bosnian and Herzegovinian (BiH) swimmer and former European champion Lana Pudar continues her career in the United States (U.S.), officially starting her duties at the University of Virginia two days ago.
Pudar (19) announced at a press conference in April this year that she would continue her career in Virginia under the watchful eye of top global swimming experts.
Two days ago, she became a member of the top U.S. collegiate swimming club, Virginia, which has produced numerous Olympic and world champions.
The head coach of this club is Todd DeSorbo, who is also the head coach of the U.S. women’s swimming team. From all of Europe, only two swimmers were invited this year to join this team, and Lana is one of those two.
The young swimmer from Mostar began a new chapter in her life two days ago, and what is very important for fans in our country is that Lana Pudar will continue to represent BiH in all competitions.
“The beginning of a new chapter,” Lana Pudar wrote after the official photoshoot at the University of Virginia.
At the photoshoot, she posed with the BiH flag, once again emphasizing that there is no doubt which country she will represent in the future.
“We managed to negotiate for Lana Pudar to have equal status on the team as the top U.S. swimmers, to be part of all the training camps that U.S. swimmers attend, and for me, as her coach, to have the right to be part of the team so that I can further educate myself with the best U.S. coaches. And most importantly, they accepted our main condition, which is that Lana will continue to swim for BiH at all major world competitions. For them, she will swim in league and collegiate competitions,” said Lana’s coach, Damir Djedovic, at a press conference, officially confirming that BiH has not lost a great talent, Klix.ba writes.
