Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton of Britain was involved in an accident on the second day of Ferrari testing at the Barcelona track, Formula 1 confirmed on Wednesday.
“The seven-time world champion has emerged unscathed from the incident and the team is working hard to repair the car in an attempt to enable his teammate Charles Leclerc to finish the race,” the statement said.
It added that this was Hamilton’s second day of testing for Ferrari. He previously drove the 2023 Ferrari car without any problems on Tuesday.
Hamilton is one of Formula 1’s greatest drivers, having been world champion seven times, along with legendary German Michael Schumacher. The pair hold the record for the most Formula 1 championships.
