Luka Modric Signs with AC Milan in Stunning Transfer Move

On Monday, the captain of the Croatian national team Luka Modrić signed a contract with Milan until the summer of 2026, with the option of extending it for another season, Gazzetta dello Sport reported.

The Italian newspaper states that Modrić will wear jersey number 14 in Milan, and he last wore that number in Tottenham, for which he played until the summer of 2012.
Modric left Real Madrid after 13 years.

Last week, as the captain of Real Madrid, Luka participated in the Club World Cup in the USA, where his team was eliminated in the semi-finals with 0-4 by the French PSG. He comes to Milan as a free agent after failing to agree on a contract extension with Real Madrid.

With Real Madrid, he won six Champions League titles, four Spanish league titles, two Copa del Rey and five Spanish Super Cups. Representing Croatia in 2018, he won silver at the World Championship in Russia, and four years later, he won bronze at the planetarium in Qatar.

After signing the contract, he will go on annual vacation, and he will join the new team led by coach Massimiliano Allegri on August 4 for preparations.
