At the Nikola Tesla Airport border crossing last weekend, customs officers prevented several attempts to smuggle luxury goods, and as the Customs Administration announced, these items are worth more than 66,000 euros.
Branded goods worth more than 55,000 euros were found with a passenger who arrived in Serbia on April 21.
“Among the undeclared items were two ‘Bulgari’ rings with a total value of 27,200 euros, a ‘Van Cleef’ bracelet worth over 17,000 euros, as well as three women’s bags with the brands ‘Louis Vuitton’, ‘Miu Miu’ and ‘Saint Laurent’, whose total value is estimated at almost 11,000 euros,” the statement said.
The Customs Administration’s Anti-Smuggling Department team discovered valuable undeclared jewelry with two passengers on Friday.
In the first case, a passenger headed to the green checkpoint, although she was carrying a new ‘Cartier’ bracelet in her suitcase, worth more than 8,000 euros.
In the second case, a ‘Cartier’ ring, worth 3,100 euros, was found in the luggage of a passenger.
All undeclared goods were temporarily detained until the conclusion of the misdemeanor proceedings before the competent court.
The Customs Administration appealed to citizens to declare all valuables they have with them upon entering Serbia.
