Member of BiH Presidency meets the Governor of the Central Bank of BiH

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović spoke with the Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina Jasmina Selimović, and in the conversation it was emphasized that the CBBH represents one of the key institutions for the stability of BiH and that its independence is of exceptional importance for the overall economic and financial system.

Governor Selimović reviewed the business results in 2025, emphasizing the stable and responsible management of the monetary and financial system. The main indicator of the stability of the currency board, the coverage ratio, increased to the highest value in history, of 110.6 percent.

The Bank’s capital and reserves increased to 1.72 billion KM, which is 528 million KM more than the previous year.

In the current mandate of the new CBBH management, record amounts of net profit have been achieved, of which the CBBH’s net profit for 2025 amounts to 289.77 million KM, which significantly exceeded the plan for the current year. After the transfer of profits to the budget of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2026, the CBBH will pay more funds to the budget of Bosnia and Herzegovina in these three years of its mandate than in the entire history of the CBBH’s existence so far.

These are very significant contributions, where in 2025 alone, the transferred profits of the CBBH represented 17 percent of the total revenues in the budget of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the same time, the CBBH additionally strengthened its position in 2025 by increasing its monetary gold reserves, which reached a record level of 3.5 tons with a total value of 799 million KM, which represents the highest level since the establishment of the CBBH. The foundations have been laid for the improvement of payment systems through intensive digitalization and modernization of infrastructure, with continuous harmonization with the standards and practices of the European Union.

Bećirović said that the Presidency of BiH unanimously made a decision to appoint the current management of the CBBH, taking into account legal criteria, especially the criterion of expertise.

“Time has shown that it was the right decision, as evidenced by the results achieved in the last two years,” said Bećirović.
