The member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, spoke with the Minister of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany, Boris Pistorius, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense in Berlin.

Bećirović pointed out that FR Germany, as one of the key European partners, provides exceptional support to the reform and Euro-Atlantic integration processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is particularly reflected in the significant participation in the NATO project to build the defense capacities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In this sense, the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, thanked Minister Pistorius for the specific assistance of FR Germany, which refers to the procurement of military equipment, uniforms, as well as the initiative to support the arrangement of facilities and infrastructure at the locations of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bećirović and Minister Pistorius agreed on the importance of maintaining stability and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans region. The interlocutors stated that it is extremely important to preserve the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Dayton Peace Agreement.

During the conversation, the Minister of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany, Boris Pistorius, said that the two countries achieve very good cooperation in the field of defense, and that Germany is a partner of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which strongly supports reform processes in the field of defense. He emphasized that FR Germany will continue to provide strong support to Bosnia and Herzegovina and its defense sector, especially in terms of building national defense capacities, as well as overall security and stability.

Minister Pistorius, among other things, informed dr. Bećirović on the continued participation of German soldiers in the ALTEA operation, and firm commitment to the implementation of EUFOR’s mandate in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bećirović thanked Germany for its decision to have its soldiers participate in the ALTEA mission, and emphasized that this strengthens the ability and relevance of EUFOR forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Klix.ba reports.
