Members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) arrested an employee of the Indirect Taxation Administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ITO BiH) today in the area of Kakanj, on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of receiving gifts and other forms of benefit in the course of official duties, SIPA announced.
The arrest was carried out as part of the operation codenamed “Kanon”.
During the search, temporarily confiscated items were also discovered, which can be used as evidence in further proceedings.
The person deprived of liberty was taken to the premises of SIPA, where criminal processing and questioning is carried out on him as a suspect. The acting prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina will decide on the further status of the arrested person.
Operational action “Kanon” is the result of a months-long investigation conducted by SIPA.
