The two-day official visit of the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev to Bosnia and Herzegovina began today with a meeting with the members of the BiH Presidency, after the Bulgarian head of state was welcomed with a solemn ceremony in front of the BiH Presidency building in Sarajevo.
The President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, is on an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina at the invitation of Denis Bećirović, Chairman of the BiH Presidency.
As announced, it is expected that the focus of the meetings will be the European perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina, regional cooperation in Southeast Europe and the strengthening of security and stability in the region, as well as topics on the bilateral partnership agenda.
He will hold a meeting with three members of the Presidency: Denis Bećirović, Željka Cvijanović and Željko Komšić, after which plenary talks between the delegations of the two countries will be held. Rumen Radev and Denis Bećirović will hold a joint press conference.
In Sarajevo, the Bulgarian head of state will also meet with members of the two chambers of the BiH Parliament, the chairwoman of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, as well as with the high representative of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt.
President Radev will visit the Butmir military base where the Bulgarian soldiers participating in the EUFOR military operation for Bosnia and Herzegovina ALTHEA are stationed. The Bulgarian head of state will meet with the Supreme Commander of EUFOR, Lieutenant General László Stitz.
