Members of the GSS rescued Seven Mountaineers from Australia

Seven Australian citizens who got lost while hiking were rescued on the slopes of Oblje above the village of Umoljani, the Mountain Rescue Service of the Sarajevo Canton announced.

The operation lasted more than three hours last night, including the transport of the injured person to the medical team.

According to information from the Mountain Rescue Service, the call for help was received at 9:55 p.m., and the group included a BiH citizen who contacted the emergency services.

Shortly thereafter, the need for urgent intervention was confirmed, given that one of the hikers had injured his knee and was unable to walk independently.

A group of 30 Mountain Rescue Service rescuers immediately went to the field where they located the hikers and provided first aid to the injured.

After treatment, they were transported over extremely demanding terrain to Gradina, and then by vehicle to Babin do, where the injured person was handed over to the Emergency Services team at 1:35 a.m.
