Memisevic: Marking of the Unconstitutional Day of RS is inappropriate

memisevicAssociation for Threatened Peoples in BiH considers marking of the 9th of January, “the Day of the RS”, as inappropriate after the Constitutional Court of BiH declared this day as unconstitutional.

President of the Association for Threatened Peoples in BiH, Fadila Memisevic, recalled that the founder of the RS was war criminal Radovan Karadzic, who was found guilty of mass murder, deportation, rape,  concentration camps and genocide committed in Srebrenica before the International War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague.

“Therefore, marking of this day would be hard for victims who felt these crimes on their own skin. These are mothers, sisters, daughters, relatives of those who were killed and still are in mass graves throughout the RS, while their loved ones are seeking for their bones,” said Memisevic.

The members of Karadzic’s establishment, Momcilo Krajisnik and Biljana Plavsic, were before the same court in The Hague and were sentenced for crimes committed in the territory from which were expelled all non-Serbs after horrible things, and Biljana Plavsic even recognized these crimes and expressed remorse.

Arrival of the President of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic, on marking of the unconstitutional 9th of January as the “Day of the RS” is nothing more, according to the Association for Threatened Peoples in BiH, but mocking not only the victims but also to the Constitutional Court of BiH as the highest legal institution of BiH.
