The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued a statement regarding the situation in Venezuela and the US arrest of the country’s President Nicolas Maduro.
In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed its support for the people of Venezuela.
“We express our support for the people of Venezuela and for stability in the country and the wider region. We call on all actors to act rationally, responsibly and with restraint in order to prevent further escalation and suffering. Nicolas Maduro is a dictator who has ruled through fear, the use of force, the army and the police, full control of the media and other repressive instruments. His hold on power is not based on free and fair elections, but on electoral fraud and manipulation, as well as the systematic repression of political opponents and student activism through arrests, intimidation and threats,” they stated.
When it comes to Maduro, they emphasized that every dictator behaves the same way.
“The world would be a better place without rulers like Nicolas Maduro. During his rule, more than eight million people were forced to flee the country. Today, over 90% of the population lives in poverty, and 70% in extreme poverty. These figures represent a profound political, social, and humanitarian failure. All political dictators behave in a similar manner and use the same repressive methods, including those from our own political reality in this part of the world. The United States of America is the most important strategic partner and friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” concluded the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
