Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sevlid Hurtić, visited the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs today and spoke with director Žarko Laketa about the migration situation in BiH.
Considering that migrants use the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a transit area on their way to EU countries, the Director informed Minister Hurtić that the current situation regarding the increased influx of migrants in Bosnia and Herzegovina is stable.
The Minister was also informed about the activities carried out by the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs in the Temporary Reception Center Lipa, which it manages at full capacity, which was also the topic of the recently held meeting in Vienna between the Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Austria, Alma Zadić.
Director Laketa and Minister Hurtić agreed on the topic of a special review of the protection of human rights, and they emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH and the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, announced the Service.
