The President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic, visited Usora on Monday, where he participated in the celebration of Usora Municipality Day and the 31st anniversary of the 110th Usora Brigade of the Croatian Defense Council (HVO). On that occasion, he pointed out that there is no Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) without Croats, and that Croatia will continue to help BiH, expressing hope that BiH will soon become part of the European Union (EU).
”I come to this beautiful and secluded city of yours as a friend, without any hidden intention or to provoke anyone. I want that BiH, and therefore all three nations, especially the Croats because they are my people, join the EU as soon as possible. I see that as a reality, and our friends from the EU must roll up their sleeves because BiH has been waiting for it for too long,” said the President of the Republic of Croatia.
”In Croatia, unfortunately, we have areas where people are leaving, houses are being sold, but no one is buying them, and where unfortunately there is no life. Here I see life, a life that survived mostly thanks to the sacrifice of those 110 titans on whose shoulders you stand today and look at the world around you and this environment where, fortunately, there was no bloodshed between Croats and Bosniaks. The people of this region made a huge contribution to the defense of houses, both here, but also in Croatia and BiH, in the third guard brigade of the HVO, which made a great contribution to the end of the war,” Milanovic pointed out.
Milanovic believes that the issue of the representation of Croats in the BiH Presidency is also important, and that the concern of the Croatian people for this shows how much Croats care about this country.
”The issue of the representation of Croats in the Presidency of BiH is important and, in my opinion, this is the best and symbolic proof that Croats care about this country, and this is sometimes brazenly denied to them because it is considered that they have plan B, they have Croatia. The question should be asked why the Croats of BiH insist on something that is so symbolic, that is not material and does not bring in huge millions, but is solely a matter of honor and pride, and this tells me that the Croats care about this country and that they want to be represented in a dignified way, and not as someone who is pushed from the side,” said the Croatian president.
