Millions of Yemenis gathered across the country in the capital Sana’a and other provinces to protest Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip and show solidarity with the Palestinians.
On Friday, Yemen witnessed over 70 mass demonstrations in the provinces of Sa’ada, Raymah and Ma’rib, as well as in several districts of Amran, Ibb, Taiz, Hajjah, Dhamar and al-Jawf.
Participants waved Yemeni and Palestinian flags and shouted slogans of support for the Palestinian people and their resistance.
This week’s rallies took place under the slogan “Birth of the Prophet of Guidance… Call for Support for Gaza and Al-Aqsa”, as they coincide with the upcoming anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad.
Demonstrators in the capital Sana’a issued a statement, criticizing the Israeli regime for its “crime of the century” in Gaza, as well as the regime’s Western supporters.
The Yemeni people, the statement emphasizes, will continue their million marches until the victory of Gaza. The statement also emphasized that the Yemeni nation will remain steadfast in its principled support for the oppressed Palestinian people.
The number of mass pro-Palestinian demonstrations is expected to rise to 363 in the capital and various Yemeni provinces, Al Mayadeen reported.
Yemenis have announced their open support for the Palestinian struggle against Israeli occupation since the war began on October 7.
Yemen’s armed forces have said they will not stop attacks until Israel’s relentless ground and air offensives in Gaza end.
On Thursday, the leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement blamed certain Arab regimes for sitting idly by as Israel continues its brutality against the oppressed Palestinian people and desecrates the Muslim holy book, the Koran, in the besieged Gaza Strip.
“Arab countries simply observe the crimes of the Zionist regime against the Palestinians, the burning of mosques and the desecration of copies of the Holy Quran without taking a clear position in this regard,” said Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.
The Ansarullah chief hailed Houthi naval operations against merchant ships linked to Israel in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the enemies have admitted they have failed to stop such reprisals in the Red Sea and beyond.
“We are continuing our activities. We have already achieved favorable results in naval operations. We will surprise the enemies on land, as we did at sea, with new and sophisticated technologies,” Houthi claimed, Klix.ba writes.
