The management of the Public Enterprise Elektroprivreda Bosnia and Herzegovina transferred the money for the payment of two salaries for the workers of the Zenica Brown Coal Mine, which during the day will currently have 796 employees on their accounts, so production in the “Raspotočje” pit will also be restored today in the second shift, said the President of the Trade Union RMU Zenica Elvedin Avdić.
He added that the director of the Zenica mine, Mensur Hukić, informed them that, after approving the funds for the payment of the August and September salaries and allowances for hot meals for those two months, he made a decision to annul the decision of October 2 this year, which “temporary shutdown” was introduced.
“For workers who work in shifts, the decision to temporarily suspend work starts today from the second shift, and for other workers from tomorrow, November 2. There are no longer any reasons for workers’ disobedience, because workers will be paid the back two salaries during the day and fees for a hot meal, so we will start work today in the second shift,” Avdić announced.
The supervisory board also confirmed the new systematization of workplaces, according to which 154 workers were declared redundant, who will be taken care of by the payment of incentive severance payments or retirement.
The Zenica miners stopped production on September 25, and have been on strike ever since, Fena reports.
