At the beginning of April, at the initiative of the Ministry of Economy, the Government of the Canton Sarajevo (CS) adopted the Decision on the number of financial incentives, minimum conditions for starting production, minimum conditions for investment, and deadlines for submitting applications for 2022.

”We have made every effort to make the first quarter of the incentive pay off in April, and we have accelerated all activities from the preparation of the draft decision, the conduct of the public debate to the adoption of the final decision, and this is about a month earlier compared to the previous year when we started the payment at the end of May. We have processed 330 requests for incentives for which 1.000.816 BAM will be paid by the end of the week,” stated Adnan Delic, Minister of Economy.

Minister Delic emphasized the importance of agricultural production in the Canton, and once again reminded us that the Ministry seeks to facilitate farmers through various activities, including the purchase of market surpluses this and the previous year, but also the announced purchase of the fruits of this year’s sowing in the fall, passing a Decision allowing farmers to use seeds and planting material from their reproduction and many other facilities. A new text of the law on agricultural incentives will be ready soon.

”We are in the final phase of preparing a new law on agricultural incentives, which will include proposals from businessmen from the public debate in February regarding the improvement of production because we want quality incentives for strategic branches of agriculture, as well as those for which we have the resources to be the best in the region. Domestic food production is important to us and we all see how important it is to have our own production, especially in the unstable socio-political conditions we are witnessing these days,” concluded Minister Delic.

He also added that the new law will regulate special incentives for young people who decide to engage in agricultural production, in order to influence young people to stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
