Minister Delic signed Contracts: Almost 840 Thousand BAM for People with Disabilities, Safe Houses

The Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Adnan Delić, today signed contracts with beneficiaries, which, by the decision of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, approved a total of 839,737.88 BAM for financing programs and projects intended for people with disabilities, victims of violence and users of public kitchens.

The largest part of the funds, 594,664.21 BAM, was allocated for programs and projects that contribute to meeting the needs of people with disabilities, improving their living conditions and the work of organizations of people with disabilities.

77,073.67 BAM was set aside for accommodation and shelter programs for victims of torture and violence, i.e. safe houses, while another BAM 168,000 was provided for the operation of public kitchens.

“Responsibility towards public money means two things: that the funds get to where they can make a real difference as soon as possible and that we know where each mark spent has ended up. We will insist on that,” said Minister Delić.

It is about funds collected in the Budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the basis of fees for organizing games of chance, which are directed through a public call to organizations and programs that provide concrete support to people who need it, and in accordance with the Decision of the Government of FBiH, the beneficiaries are obliged to spend the allocated funds on purpose within the established deadlines and to submit reports and credible documentation to the Ministry confirming their expenditure. For inappropriate use of funds or non-fulfillment of obligations, the return of funds is foreseen, as well as the limitation of the right to a new allocation in the upcoming period.

Delić emphasized that the Ministry will monitor the implementation of the contracted programs and projects because the support does not end with the signing of the contract, but only when the approved funds are turned into a concrete service and help to the people for whom they are intended.
