The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, Admir Katica, held a meeting with the newly appointed Security Attaché of the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brian Janik, who will be in this position in our country for the next three years.
During the meeting, Minister Katica presented the most current projects of the Ministry, including the establishment of the Helicopter Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton and the procurement of the Bell 412 EPX helicopter, which was manufactured in the United States of America. Gratitude was expressed for this cooperation, which contributes to the strengthening of security capacities and partnership between the two countries. It was pointed out that in the last few years, more than 70 million convertible marks were invested in strengthening and equipping the police in Sarajevo Canton.
Ataš Janik was also presented with the project for the construction of a new central building of the MUP of Sarajevo Canton, which will be located only a few hundred meters from the American Embassy building, and explained what will be in it and how security in Sarajevo Canton will be managed from this facility.
Interest was expressed in the method of recruiting new police officers into the ranks of the Police Directorate of the MUP of Sarajevo Canton, and the transparent and strict recruitment controls introduced by the MUP of Sarajevo Canton, which result in only educated and professional personnel entering the police, were explained.
