Bisera Turkovic, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said today that the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, was unsuccessfully trying to divert attention from the icon he gave to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and to blame others.
She said Dodik belittled an important guest and his country.
“Instead of trying to confuse and manipulate the whole case, I want to mention that the Embassy of Ukraine in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country are asking for the return of the icon, which they claim belongs to this country’s cultural heritage. To begin with, I suggest Dodik politicization of this case, to act on the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, which returned the icon and to resolve this case, include Interpol, or the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has already formed the case and judicial authorities, who will determine the origin of the case and the manner in which the icon arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the meantime, while the investigation continues, I call on Dodik to work together to solve the problems of our citizens and all obligations from our strategic documents, “she said.
