Miralem Pjanic said Goodbye to the National Team

The match in Zenica between Bosnia and Herzegovina and San Marino began with a farewell ceremony for Miralem Pjanić, as he was known as Mire, a member of CSKA Moscow, who played his last match for the Bosnian national team on March 21st last year.

Pjanić took to the field with his son Edin, and in an emotional and moving speech he thanked everyone for the love that the fans have shown him over the years.

”I had the opportunity to play for my Bosnia and Herzegovina 115 times. It was beautiful. Thank you, said Pjanić, who was presented with a jersey with the number “115” by the president of the Bosnian Football Federation Vico Zeljković, which is the number of appearances he has played for the Bosnian national team.

Pjanić played for the Luxembourg U17 and U19 teams in his national team career, but after that he made 115 appearances for the Bosnian national team and scored 17 goals. His club career was impressive – he started at Luxembourg’s Schifflange 95, continued at French Metz and Lyon; Italian clubs Roma and Juventus, Spanish Barcelona, ​​Turkish Besiktas, Sharjah from the United Arab Emirates and, now, at Russian CSKA from Moscow.
