Football Club (FK) Sarajevo and the team’s coach Mirza Varešanović mutually terminated the contract after the team was eliminated in the first round of the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers, FK Sarajevo announced today.
Varešanović took over the team in December of the previous year in a very difficult situation and, together with his colleagues and players, he managed to make up for the big point deficit in the table and achieve a place in Europe, thus achieving the set goal.
“With his work ethic and his respect for the players and all employees, he justified the trust that the club’s management showed him when they appointed him. He also showed his attitude towards the club during the termination of the contract when he waived any financial claims,” said FK Sarajevo.
Together with Varešanović, the rest of the coaching staff will also leave the bench, and the club will inform the public and fans in the coming days who will be the team’s new coach.
