Young professionals who are passionate about security, international affairs, and conflict resolution have until 30 April to apply to participate in Model OSCE 2023.
Model OSCE will be held from 12 to 14 June at the OSCE headquarters in Vienna, Austria. The programme is designed for young people aged 18 to 30 years old from select OSCE participating States. Participation is free of charge.
During the three-day event, 20 selected participants will receive expert training in negotiation and learn more about the OSCE, its structures, and consensus-based decision-making. They will also have opportunities to network with other young professionals, experts, and OSCE representatives.
Model OSCE’s core activity will be an academic simulation of a crisis to be resolved by the participants. They will play the roles of representatives of OSCE participating States and other relevant actors in the Permanent Council, the OSCE’s principal decision-making body.
This edition of Model OSCE focuses on Western Europe. Additional Model OSCE events will be organized at national, sub-regional, and regional levels to promote dialogue and mutual understanding among young people.
Model OSCE is an initiative of the OSCE Office of the Secretary General in partnership with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Regional Office for Cooperation and Peace in Europe. For more information about Model OSCE, the selection criteria, and how to apply, please visit: https://www.osce.org/secretariat/541548.
