Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday declared victory for the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the general election, calling it a historic feat.
“I bow to Janata Janardan (verdict of the people) for this favor and assure them that we will continue the good work done in the last decade to continue to fulfill the aspirations of the people,” Modi said on social network X in his initial comments on the vote count. which started on Tuesday.
The NDA is expected to cross the threshold of 272 seats in parliament necessary to form the government.
