The Government of Montenegro has reintroduced a visa-free regime for Turkish citizens, shortening the permitted stay from 90 to 30 days, in order to prevent illegal migration and align with the visa policy of the European Union.
As announced, the measure was adopted after improving cooperation with the Turkish authorities, as well as increased security and migration checks. In the event of a security risk assessment, the visa regime may be reintroduced, reports Radiotelevision of Montenegro.
The decision is part of a broader package of alignment with the EU, which also includes the adjustment of visa policy towards third countries, including Azerbaijan, by 15 January.
