More than a Thousand People participated in this year’s Una Regatta

This year’s 51st International Tourist Una Regatta, one of the most recognizable events in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has once again confirmed its status as a unique tourist event, both in the Una-Sana Canton and beyond – it was said today at a press conference of the Public Enterprise “Una National Park” at which the results were summarized after the end of the regatta.

“We would like to thank everyone who contributed to its successful holding. There was certainly room for improvement and we are already analyzing all aspects of the organization in order to improve future editions. The Una Regatta has once again shown how much potential it holds for the promotion of our country, but also as a strong stimulus to the local economy,” said the acting director of the NP “Una” Alen Zulić.

Special emphasis was placed on the international character of the event, considering that the participants came from numerous countries around the world.

“More than 1,000 people participated in this year’s regatta, not only from Bosnia and Herzegovina and countries in the region, but also from distant destinations such as Australia, the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Ukraine and Austria. Another novelty this year was the tourist train that transported 150 passengers from Bihać to Bosanska Krupa, which was met with extremely positive reactions,” said Arijana Vojić from NP “Una”.

The safety of participants and visitors was among the organization’s priorities, both on the water and on land, and was successfully implemented thanks to good cooperation with the relevant services.

“We are particularly pleased with the fact that all participants safely reached their final destination. We are grateful to the police, rescue teams, medical teams and all other services that were involved in the implementation of the regatta. Coordination on the ground functioned flawlessly,” said Admira Alijagić from NP “Una”.

The importance of preserving natural resources was also emphasized, so that events of this format could continue to contribute to the development of sustainable tourism in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
