Russia is ready to study options for contributing to the US-Armenian “Trump Road for International Peace and Prosperity” project, including the use of Russian railways, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
“When it comes to the Trump Road project, we confirm that we are ready to study options for our possible integration, including using the unique expertise of Russian Railways,” Zakharova said at a press conference.
Zakharova stated that Russia needs to study all the details of how the project will be implemented and added that the Russian proposal to Armenia for talks with all involved agencies remains in force.
In August last year, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Trump signed a declaration on the peaceful resolution of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Yerevan has agreed to cooperate with the US and third parties to create the “Trump Road”, which will connect Azerbaijan with its enclave of Nakhchivan via Armenian territory.
