Mostar Mayor met with the Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania

The Mayor of Mostar, Mario Kordić, welcomed Megi Fino, Albania’s Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs and President of the Tirana City Council, to City Hall today for an official visit.

The delegation also included Albania’s Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Anita Shaqiri, and Bardo Đonlešaj, a representative of Mostar’s Albanian community.

During a warm and friendly discussion, Mayor Kordić briefed the visitors on the current political landscape in Mostar, noting that many decisions made at higher levels of government have a significant impact on the city.

Deputy Minister Fino reaffirmed Albania’s strong commitment to supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina on its European and NATO integration paths. She expressed her pleasure at being in Mostar, highlighting the city’s symbolic importance and its role as a bridge of cooperation between the two countries. She also underlined the positive relations between Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Fino invited Mayor Kordić to visit Tirana to further enhance institutional and cultural cooperation. Mayor Kordić thanked her for the invitation and presented her with the monograph “Mostar in Pictures and Words” as a gesture of friendship and hospitality.

Both sides concluded the meeting by emphasizing the need to strengthen cooperation, particularly in tourism, culture, and joint projects that can support Mostar’s development and deepen ties between the two friendly nations and their cities.
