“Mostar Sevdah Reunion” Fifth on list of European List ‘World Music’

The group “Mostar Sevdah Reunion”, of which one part of the band lives in the Netherlands and another part in their hometown, has marked a huge success these days. On the January top-list in the category ‘world music’, their new album “Priče iz zaboravljenog grada” (stories from a forgotten city) took fifth place in all of Europe’’, writes Radio Slobodna Bosna.

Drummer of the band Senad Trnovac said that placement in 5^th place of the European top-list is not the only success of this band.

‘’Whoever follows some portals and reviews in the West, from many relevant people and who listen to one or two hundred CD’s a month, we always received four or five stars from their analysis. However, here it goes unnoticed’’.

Mostar musicians, friends and colleagues of the band ‘Mostar Sevdah Reunion’ is a group made up of musicians from Mostar who live both in the Netherlands and in Mostar, and they say that the success of the band sends a different picture of Mostar than the usual one.

‘’I am glad that finally positive things are coming out of Mostar. I know all of them,. I am happy that we can be proud of them and that we are building a brighter point in the world’’, said musician and producer/manager Orhan Maslo Oha.
