Musk Unveils New AI, Claims It Surpasses All Others

The artificial intelligence development company owned by Elon Musk has unveiled its latest AI model Grok 3, which it claims is better than OpenAI’s Chat G-T-P-I.

Musk said that Grok is “the smartest AI on Earth”, and that his company outperformed the popular Chat, as well as Google’s Gemini, Dipsik and others in performance tests in the fields of science, mathematics and programming.

Billionaire Musk, also the head of SpaceX and Tesla, said in a live broadcast that the Grok 3 has “more than ten times” the computing power of the earlier Grok model.

The company confirmed that the Grok 3 will be available to Premium+ subscribers on Iks, the social platform that Mask also owns, and that it will be part of a new subscription called SuperGrok that will include access to the Grok mobile app and website.

Musk’s claim that Grok performs better than Chat, which has not yet been independently verified, further heightens his rivalry with Open AI and its boss Sam Altman.

Musk previously filed two lawsuits against OpenAI, alleging the company abandoned its founding principles of not-for-profit, and last week offered to buy the company for $97.4 billion, which Altman and the board rejected.

He helped found OpenAI, but left it in 2018, becoming increasingly critical of the company and its leadership.

Altman dismissed the offer as a tactic to slow down rivals in the artificial intelligence field, which remains dominated by large US-based companies, although last month’s sudden emergence of Dipsik as a cheaper Chinese alternative shook that perception.

However, this does not yet seem to have dampened the appetite for investing in AI companies.

There are reports that OpenAI is in talks to raise around $40 billion in a new round of funding that would raise its valuation to roughly $300 billion.

In the meantime, it was announced that Mask is negotiating to raise around 10 billion, which would mean that the estimated value of the development company will be around 75 billion dollars.
