Director of the Museum, Mirsad Sijaric especially honored their first visitors, the youngest ones, and reminded that although the status of these institutions is not resolved, it keeps three million items of inestimable value, which makes it the most representative and oldest scientific, educational and cultural institution in BiH. Their value, he said, is in providing opportunities for future research, learning, understanding, and development of culture in BiH.
Yesterday, each department presented their work, so the Department of Natural Sciences presented their work on the protection of plants, animals and complete study of the living world in BiH. Department of Archaeology presented the work of curators of the Department of Prehistory and the Middle Ages, and they will approach the work on preservation, taxidermy, and protection of objects to their visitors.
The Department of Ethnology presented their engagement on the protection of textile items, collecting oral material and documentation, preservation of craft products and many other segments of the culture of life in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Also, scientific research is extremely dynamic, is implemented in the field, studying the documentation, archival material, and it is synthesized in the article published in the Gazette of the National Museum of BiH.
