NBA Has A New Highest-Paid Basketball Player, Will Earn A Staggering Sum In Two Years

The United States (U.S.) NBA team Phoenix Suns has decided to reward its best basketball player, Devin Booker (28), with a two-year contract extension until the summer of 2030, after parting ways with Kevin Durant.

Booker’s current contract was valid until the end of the 2027/28 season, and the new two-year extension is worth as much as 145 million dollars. This makes it the most valuable extension deal in the history of the NBA.

The all-time leading scorer of the Phoenix Suns will earn a total of 316 million dollars over the next five seasons, U.S. media reports. Last season, he averaged 25.6 points and 7 assists per game.

After failing to make the playoffs last season, the club’s owners, the Ishbia brothers, decided to “buy a new broom” – they fired the coach and general manager and got rid of 36-year-old superstar Kevin Durant. According to U.S. media, All-Star basketball player Bradley Beal (32), who arrived two years ago from the Washington Wizards, may also soon leave the franchise.
