Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday that he accepts a draft agreement for a ceasefire in Gaza and a prisoner exchange proposed by US special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.
“Israel accepts Witkoff’s new draft,” Netanyahu said during a meeting with families of Israeli hostages in Gaza, according to a statement from his office.
Hamas confirmed Thursday that it had received a new proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza and a prisoner exchange from the mediator.
The group did not disclose details of the new proposal.
On Wednesday, Hamas said it had reached an agreement with Witkoff on a general framework for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
