Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu postponed the evacuation of 150 sick and wounded Palestinian children from the Gaza Strip for treatment in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Israeli media reported.
“A group of sick children from Gaza was supposed to go to the UAE via Israel tomorrow (Monday), but after the incident in Majdal Shams, Prime Minister Netanyahu ordered the postponement of their departure,” the Israel Broadcasting Authority announced.
It is reported that Netanyahu decided to delay the children’s departure via Israel’s Ramon Air Base.
On Saturday, a rocket attack was carried out on a football field in the town of Majdal Shams in the occupied Golan Heights, killing 12 people, including children.
Israel blames Hezbollah for the attack, but the Lebanese group has denied involvement in the attack, Anadolu writes.
