The Association of the Palestinian Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina organized a welcome reception for the ambassador of the State of Palestine to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sylvia Abu Laban, who said that her arrival was not only in the capacity of an ambassador with an official title, but also as a representative of a Palestinian woman who believes that true diplomacy begins with people.
The President of the Palestinian Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Majed Maarouf, emphasized the importance of continuous coordination and close cooperation between the Embassy of the State of Palestine and the Palestinian community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to serve the Palestinian national issue and the Palestinian people.
He also pointed out that the Palestinian community puts all its capacities in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the ambassador’s disposal, in support of her diplomatic efforts.
He added that the continuous support that BiH provides to the Palestinian people confirms that the relations between the two countries and two brotherly peoples are deeply rooted, historically strong and lasting.
Ambassador Laban expressed her gratitude, pride and respect for the members of the Palestinian community in BiH, conveying to them the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership.
She pointed out that her arrival is not only in the capacity of an ambassador with an official title, but also as a representative of a Palestinian woman who believes that true diplomacy begins with people – from mutual trust, sincere partnership and close cooperation with Palestinian communities that represent the first line of defense of the Palestinian narrative in the world.
She emphasized that the role of the Palestinian community is reflected in active action and the building of humane and political bridges that strengthen the position of the Palestinian national issue.
She also pointed out that BiH is a country that knows the cost of war, the experience of state reconstruction and the importance of justice, which further increases the responsibility in representing Palestine as a nation that strives for freedom, dignity and the right to life.
The ambassador confirmed that the next period will be marked by a high level of coordination and joint cooperation, with the aim of serving the Palestinian people and strengthening their national presence in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Palestinian Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
