Before the screening of Stone’s four hours long film, the director explained the audience what the story is about, for which he said that it was “the culmination of his strange life of the US filmmaker.” A triple Academy Awards winner came to Meeting Point after a walk through Sarajevo with his wife Sun-jung Jung.
“The film about the President of Russia is an invitation to peace, and it comes on screens in the middle of the second Cold War, in the circumstances in which the United States are slipping into a situation in which the reaction of Russia is more than possible. That is what many American neoconservatives and Democrats, supporters of Hillary Clinton, actually want” described Stone his work.
A large audience greeted Stone with the applause, after which followed the projection of the film “The Putin Interviews”.
Stone had the opportunity to do more than ten interviews with President Vladimir Putin during the last two years, and he had the possibility to ask questions of his own choice. This great four-part documentary gives an insight into the personal and professional life of President Putin, and it refers to his growing up in communism, his rise to power, the relationship with four presidents of the US, and his attitudes on current American-Russian relations.
The film is based on the most intimate interviews that Putin has ever given to an author from the West.
