Velimir Busic, one of the founders of the HDZ in 1990 and a former representative in the West Herzegovina Canton Assembly, is one of the two killed in last night’s shooting in Grude, it was confirmed for Klix.ba.
Busic was also the head of the party branch in Grude, and in 2018 he left the party after internal party conflicts. In Herzegovina, he was also known as the owner of the company Velbusch, which has been trading a wide range of goods since 1994.
The information about the death of sixty years old Velimir Busic was confirmed for Klix.ba by the current president, Ilija Cvitanovic.
“Unfortunately, the information is correct. Velimir Busic was a good man and I would like to express my condolences to his family,” said Cvitanovic.
The shooting and death of two people happened last night two hours after midnight during the celebration on the occasion of St. Stjepan when one person, who was sitting in a local cafe with friends, went home to get a rifle, and on her way back opened fire, killing two people and injuring two others. One person suffered minor injuries, while the other had his leg amputated at SKB Mostar.
In addition to Velimir Bušić, 34-year-old Mate Grizelj was also killed.
According to unofficial information, everyone who was in the cafe last night are neighbors and friends, and why the shooting happened and what was the reason for the fight is not known for now.
