In the past year, 2024, a total of 1.295.224 road vehicles were registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), which, compared to 2023 (1.233.783), represents an increase of 61.441 vehicles, or 4.98 percent.
In the Federation of BiH (FBiH), a total of 777.993 road motor and trailer vehicles were registered, accounting for 60.07 percent of the total number of registered vehicles in BiH, while 476.077 or 36.76 percent were registered in the Republika Srpska (RS), and 41.154 vehicles or 3.18 percent in the Brcko District.
According to available data on the total number of registered motor vehicles, it can be concluded that the average age of motor vehicles in BiH is 17 years, meaning that the average age has remained the same, i.e., unchanged compared to the previous year (2023), according to a statement from BIHAMK.
Comparing the number of registered vehicles by age structure, or according to Euro standards, it is possible to conclude that the age and environmental structure of the vehicle fleet in our country is gradually changing from year to year and that an increasing number of vehicles with higher Euro standards are operating on BiH‘s roads. However, unfortunately, this is still not happening at the same pace as the overall increase in the number of registered vehicles in our country.
