Palestinian Ambassador: The People of Gaza will not give in, it is our Historical Territory

More than 3 thousand dead, tens of thousands wounded, and hundreds of thousands displaced. Gaza is under siege, there is no food, electricity, or water, and it is the most densely populated territory of the Gaza Strip. It is estimated that about 2 million people live there. Israel is constantly bombing Gaza and has announced a ground offensive.

The European Union (EU) and the United States (U.S.) support Israel, and Russia accuses Western countries of involvement in the conflicts. The United Nations (UN) accuses both sides of committing war crimes. More than 500 children have been killed since Saturday.

Rezek Namura, the Palestinian ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), spoke about this in an interview yesterday.

He says that a collective slaughter is taking place in Palestine.

“Since 2006, Gaza has been under constant siege, without any real justification. If the occupying army has failed, this does not mean that the Netanyahu government should justify itself to the public, that is, to find refuge in the fact that it will kill millions of children in Gaza, and wipe out entire settlements. Gaza was hit with more than 4.000 tons of explosives, which is equal to one nuclear bomb. The situation is catastrophic, there are more than 1.800 dead, and more than 7.000 wounded, and these are the people who were found, we do not know the condition of those who remained under the ruins. Israel cut off electricity, water, and food delivery. The residents of Gaza will not give in, it is our historical territory and we will stay there,” Namura said.

He points out that it is impossible to evacuate people in 24 hours, which is the deadline given by Israel – this is an attempt to deceive, says Namura. “The Palestinian people will not leave their homeland. The intentions of this extremist government of Israel are strategic, preparations for the next governments”.

Moreover, Namura emphasizes that it is not possible to equate, as he stated, the executioner and the victim.

“The world sees with double standards, on one eye. To date, Israel has not implemented any UN resolution. As a member of the UN, Israel was supposed to respect international laws. Transatlantic countries are now rushing to protect Israel, I just don’t know what it needs protection from, it’s been 75 years since Palestine is under occupation, and nobody pays attention to that,” he added.

Namura assessed that humanitarian corridors should be the responsibility of the international community, of all those who care about human rights.

“Most of the hospitals in Gaza are no longer functioning, the warehouses with medicines have been destroyed. They don’t even have beds in the hospitals. Israel has already threatened that if any passages are opened, they will be bombed. Israel is also responsible, not only continuing the occupation and rejecting resolutions, but dividing and pressuring the Palestinians through the separation of territories.”

In the end, Namura stated that the real solution would be the withdrawal of Israel and the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. Everything else will not lead to lasting peace for the peoples of the Middle East, he said.

“Anything that would be done outside of the framework of the resolution on international legitimacy and the possibility of the Palestinian people to get their rights is nonsense,” Federalna reports.
