Palestinian Doctor Who Lost Nine Children in Israeli Attack Dies

A Palestinian father who lost nine children in an Israeli airstrike on the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis has died from his injuries, local health officials said.

Hamdi Al-Najjar was seriously injured when Israeli forces bombed his home on May 24, sources said.

Palestinian pediatrician Alaa Al-Najjar was devastated when, while on duty at Nasser Hospital, she received the bodies of her nine children who had been killed in the same attack.

The attack on their home also wounded the only surviving child, Adam, and the father, Dr. Hamdi Al-Najjar.

The Israeli military said it would launch an investigation into the drone strike that hit the Al-Najjar family’s home.

Since the start of the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the Israeli army and illegal settlers have killed at least 972 Palestinians and injured more than 7,000 in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

In July last year, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s long-standing occupation of the Palestinian territories illegal and called for the evacuation of all Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, AA writes.
