“On Monday at 8 p.m., the ICIJ will publish a database with 200.000 names of people and companies, with possible additional data, as well as names of certain stakeholders. However, internal documents and emails will not be published,” said Miranda Patrucić from the BiH department of the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, which together with the ICIJ participates in the media coverage of the Panama Papers.
Precisely due to the fact that certain documents will not be published after all, full list of stakeholders and other information will not be available.
The very search of the published database will be simple, with the use of key words such as names of countries, last names of people, names of companies etc. The only problem, however, is that not all names related to the Panama Papers are available in the structured part of the published data.
As a reminder, the ICIJ obtained more than 11 million documents related to transactions to and from offshore companies, which have been executed in the past 40 years.
According to Miranda Patrucić, at least four names from Bosnia and Herzegovina will be among the 200.000 names in the database.
This does not mean that only four persons or four companies from BiH had some kind of connection with offshore companies. Those four names are the result of primary search by using key words such as “bosnia”, while more detailed search will take much more time.
