Part of Šamac Still Under the Water, Sava and Bosna in Two Days Should Be Off the Streets

A part of the city in the area of Šamac is still under the water, but Sava and Bosna are declining, and in two days are supposed to be off the streets.

The water is slowly withdrawing in the area of Lončari and the speed of withdrawing will depend in the level of river Sava, announces Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of RS on today’s situation of the water level in RS.

Water level of the river Sava is still high in the area of the municipality Bijeljina, but is decreasing one to two centimeters a hour.

Water of the river Sava so far has declined with about 45 centimeters.

Drina embankment of 100 width is withdrawing quite quick.

River Sava in Gradipka is declining and currently the water level is 72 centimeters more than the normal level, in Bosanski Brod 62 cm more than normal, in Šamac 44 cm and in Rača 123 cm.

Currently the Public Institution “Vode Srpske” and Civil Protection of municipality Bosanski Brod are conducting measurements to protect the embankment in order to prevent the landslides and leakages through the embankment.
