
This document stipulates stricter penalty policy from the aspect of speed of movement, thus penalties for exceeding speed limit by 20 to 30 kilometers per hour will amount to between 100 and 300 Bam, while those who exceed the speed limit above 30 kilometers per hour will be punished with an amount from 400 Bam up to as much as 1,000 BAM.
As the Ministry of Communications and Transportation of B&H stated, same penalties are valid for the refusal of breath test, as well as for the determined degree of intoxication above 1.5 grams per kilogram, in case of which the driver is to be detained until sobering.
Sanctions for using mobile phones during driving are also stricter, as well as for not tying the seat belt, and they range between 100 and 300 BAM.
In addition to mobile phones, use of audio or video devices in a way which can be disturbing or distracting the driver during driving is also forbidden.
“It is stipulated that driver’s license of the person who records four penalty points in the period of two years since the day of acquisition of the right to drive a motor vehicle will be seized and cancelled by the relevant authority for issuance of driver’s license,” the Ministry stated.
Amendments are also related to pedestrians, who are forbidden to use mobile phone or have earphones in their ears during the movement along roads.
