This performance aims to symbolically mark the 21st anniversary of the discovery of the concentration camp Trnopolje near Prijedor. The camp was discovered by British journalists of ITN in August 1992, and the evidence of victims behind barbed wire was later used as evidence in war crimes cases.
The performance includes a screening of a documentary film on crimes in Prijedor, followed by a planned discussion on various approaches to cultural memories.
They will try to describe the atmosphere from the former camp in a unique way, and will include appearances by former inmates of the camp from the same place where the camp was located. The video link will also be accompanied by an award “To combat the denial of genocide”, which is awarded by ‘Izvor’. Ed Vulliamy won the award last year. He visited the camps Omarska and Trnopolje on 5 August 1992 and presented to the world the carefully hidden facts of this concentration camp.
The performance will start at 21:00.
