The Ambassador of Sweden to BiH Anders Hagelberg opened the exhibition and noted that it represents a continuation of the exhibition of photographs by the author Johan Bavman entitled “The Fathers in Sweden”, which shows fathers who decided to stay home in order to take care of their babies.
“We would like to inspire men, women, and politicians in BiH with this because, although each country decides on its own future, we in Sweden really believe in this and we want to present it here,” said Ambassador Hagelberg.
The initiative #BHdads was started as a Facebook campaign, which was aimed at inviting all fathers in BiH to send one or more photos that are showing how they spend time with their children.
Author of the exhibition Almir Panjeta stated that #BHdads campaign is advocating parental leave for fathers as well. He visited dads all across BiH to show what they can and know through the photography. He visited Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Kakanj as well as other cities, and they had a lot of fun and a good time.
More than 90 photos of fathers from all parts of BiH was received, and the top 15 were exhibited, while the three best photos received an award.
