Photography of the Year 2013 : “JMBG Protests”

Protesti majki i beba, studenata i gradjana ispred drzavnog parlamenta za JMBG u Sarajevu na MarijindvoruThe winners of the festival “Photography of the year 2013” were announced last night at the B&H Art Gallery and with the best prize “Grand Prix” was awarded Sulejman Omerbašić with the photography “JMBG protests”.

The 8 member jury consisted of Regina Azenberger (President of jury – Austria), Mario Romulić (Croatia), Dražen Stojčić (Croatia), Mladen Pikulić (B&H/Netherlands), Amer Kapetanović(B&H), Jan Vermer (Netherlands), Marko Risović (Serbia) and Mario Periša (Croatia) selected the winners of the festival.

The best photo of the category “Applied Photo by HT Eronet” was chosen photo of Sulejman Omerbašić, titled “Jason Paul Freerunner”.

Dino Šimek won the award in the category “Nature” with the photo titled “Autumn Wind”, and Goran Lizdek won the award in the category ” Creative photography”, with the photo titled “Dubioza Kolektiv”.

Edin Džeko won the best award in the category “City” with the photo “Awakening of a new day”.

Siniša Plavšić won the award in the category “Ljudi”, with the photo “View”. Sulejman Omerbašić won the award in the category “Press”, with the photo “JMBG protesti”.

Sulejman was awarded with the “Grand Prix”  for special success in this contest. He took the top prize of the festival – Canon EOS 5D MK III, a gift from the general sponsor of the festival, the company Canon Bosnia and Herzegovina.
