The contract was signed by the Mayor Nedzad Ajnadzic, on behalf of the Municipality Centar as a financier, and the director Alen Ramic on behalf of the CPUC “Park”. According to the signed contract, the Municipality Centar will allocate 10,000 BAM from this year’s budget to the “Pioneer Valley (Pionirska dolina)” Zoo, for the purchase and transport of animals.
Director Ramic stated that the donation of the Municipality Center will be used for the purchase of Bengal tiger.
“First of all, I would like to thank the Municipality Centar and Mayor Ajnadzic for good cooperation through years of our work on different projects. The support of this local community in the reconstruction and development of the Recreation-Entertainment Center ‘Pioneer Valley’ is very important to us. Thanks to this donation, this Zoo will be richer for an extremely attractive animal, the Bengal tiger, which is an endangered species of tigers,” stated Ramic.
The Bengal tiger is the most numerous subspecies of tiger, and the second largest species after the Siberian tiger. It belongs to the class of mammals and the group of cats, namely the big cats. Their basic colour ranges from white to orange, and they have dark stripes in all variants.
According to the statement of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 2011, there are less than 2,500 Bengal tigers registered in the world.
