The Polish military said it had scrambled fighter jets over suspected drone activity in the border areas of Ukraine, the Polish Armed Forces’ Operational Command said.
The statement noted that the actions were “preventive in nature” and aimed at “ensuring airspace security and protecting citizens, especially in areas adjacent to the danger zone.”
The Polish armed forces said on Wednesday, September 10, that they had shot down several drones that had violated the country’s airspace.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk claimed that the downed drones were Russian and posed a threat.
