In this morning’s shooting in Brčko, one person wounded a policeman with a firearm, who was then transferred to UKC Tuzla for treatment, the police of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced this morning. The wounded policeman is not in a life-threatening condition, and the suspect has been arrested.
The event was reported to the police by an ambulance employee at 2:57 a.m., informing them that a patient who had been shot with a firearm was being cared for.
“Immediately after receiving the report, police officers were sent to the premises of the Emergency Service, who collected information from a person with the initials J.T., a police officer of the Brcko District Police who was not engaged in work, and who stated that he was on the way in front of a restaurant in Mostarska Street , he was shot with a firearm by the initials S.M., from Brčko.
After collecting the aforementioned information, the scene of the event was secured and it was determined that S.M. moved away from the scene in an unknown direction, and urgent search and recovery measures were taken. The face of S.M. was located in the area of the city and deprived of his liberty”, announced the police of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The on-duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Brčko District of BiH was informed about the incident, under whose supervision the necessary investigative actions are being taken to clarify and document the entire incident, determine the motive and criminal-legal qualification.
After the completion of all investigative actions and the criminal legal qualification of the aforementioned event, the Police of Brčko District of BiH will submit to the Prosecutor’s Office of Brčko District of BiH, together with the Report on the committed criminal offense, the person S.M. be handed over to further jurisdiction, about which the public will be informed in a timely manner, it was stated in the announcement.
