This was announced on 29 May on the International Day of the UN Peacekeepers, which is celebrated in honor of the deceased members of the UN who “played a role in achieving peace throughout the world”.
“The participation of BIH police forces in strengthening stability in the world is also a clear indication that the Ministry of Security agencies has the capacity and experiences in the reconstruction and democratic transition in post-conflict societies. The BIH Ministry of Security was also awarded the UN Public Service, which is the most prestigious international award in the field’’, announced the BiH Ministry of Security.
In peace operations since 2000 until now, 195 BiH police officers were involved in peacekeeping missions. Currently, there are 53 individuals in peace missions in South Sudan, Liberia and Cyprus, of which 10 are women.

The expressed professionalism in sensitive operations, and professionalism in all the performance of the tasks of the BiH police have gained an outstanding reputation.

In addition to the contribution to international peace and security, participating in missions by a number of BiH police officers around the world was characterized by commission missions, representatives of local police structures, presidents of local police forces, and the special representative of the general UN secretary.
